Also, they have acceptable standards of behaviour to live up to as serving officers in the army. They are supposed to remain neutral on all operational issues and to set an example of right and proper conduct in public and private life….

So, Lighta light, why didn’t Florida go away? There are over 60k sq miles of land surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico . That land is repeatedly flooded and destroyed by storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. Why has no one closed down Florida? Instead for many , many years now, the government has rebuilt cities throughout Fl. Where is the Justice? Why is U S taxpayer money being used there? It is now a breach of contract, rebuilding one state and not another…Total Injustice !!
Pre -Katrina, the levee inspections were a shared responsibility between officials from the Corps of Engineers, the state Department of Transportation and Development, and the Orleans Levee Board.
But those inspections could not have detected design flaws deep underground or contracting flaws where levees were filled with erodible sand instead of good Louisiana clay.
The responsibility for the levees not performing as they should have lies with the USACE – John Barry, Author Rising Tide
The Levee Boards should be held accountable for their failure to inspect and make sure the Leeves were not in disrepair.They also share the blame alongside the USACE.

These individuals employed by or soldiers of the Corps hid their identities, and posted insults and lies. Anyone posting comments with a military (usace) IP address has utilized a government internet network whether he/she was on premises or not.
Major Jakob Bruhl said in his blog “Soldiers in the Blogosphere” that he believes this sort of behavior is wrong and says it discredits his Corps (12-31-08)
